Over in roch_ny soemone has pointed out that the Westboro Baptist Church of Topeka, KS is planning to protest the memorial being held tonight at Fairport High School for five students killed in a car crash last month. Their reason for protest is because FHS had a diversity day, and the WBC is vehemently against homosexuality. Everyone has the right to believe what they want and protest when they want, but the fact that they would choose this event to spread their "Gospel" is clearly inappropriate. There are counter-protests being organized in attempt to "shield" the attendees of the memorial service by wearing angel wings or tee-shirts saying "Not Today, Fred". The idea is NOT to shout slogans or beget ill-feelings, but instead to form a quiet barrier between the WBC protesters and the mourners.

The events transpire this evening between 6 and 7 pm at Fairport High School. If I had known sooner, I would have sewn up some wings quickly last night, but I may go anyway, just to lend an understanding heart.

Hi there.

I am looking to take kayaking lessons. I found Genesee Waterways Center and Bay Creek. Does anyone recommend one over the other? I know GWC is in Genesee Valley Park and that Bay Creek is out there near the lake.

Any suggestions is appreciated.
